Rosenfeld Kidson, a timber import and distribution company, approached SGA to design a new showroom and office space adjacent to their factory. This was to be used to showcase their products, meet clients, and provide an office work area.

Entry is into an open reception area with seating and display spaces. There is a generous office space to the left with views out to the working factory. A separate meeting space also serves this area, and can be closed off with an internal curtain and glazed oak-sliding door. Oak has been used extensively throughout this area with the characteristics displayed and enhanced by various finishes and oils. Custom designed office furniture and display cabinetry and been finely crafted to reflect the quality of the timbers used.

Staff wellbeing was a strong consideration, so inviting and engaging spaces have been created to support this. The rear area contains includes a generous staff kitchen and dining area that opens to a sheltered deck surrounded by landscaping.

Externally the building is enclosed with Rosenfeld Kidson’s own β€˜Cedarscreen Vertical’ cladding system, with particular attention to well defined detailing and connections.

This showroom is a strong expression of high quality materials and detailed construction and has proved to be delight for both staff and clients.

Rosenfeld Kidson

β€œIn this small factory warehouse addition, inclusive of an office, reception, meeting room and staff lunchroom, the potential of timber and its finishing is beautifully showcased. Interior panelling, faceted display cabinets, upholstered benches and fluted reception and table supports exquisitely demonstrate the beauty of crafted timber. More routine interior timber and wall panelling offsets these finer finishes, while decking and a wonderfully considered timber seating alcove outside opens to a more robust seating - a landscaped setting with fruiting trees and ornamental groves. The sequence of spaces and experiences offered here compellingly marry a celebration of timber with broader concerns for staff and visitor comfort and wellbeing.”
