NZIA Awards

Auckland Architecture Awards by Strachan Group Architects

SGA were very pleased to be recognised at the recent Auckland Architecture Awards, alongside many amazing auckland architecture practices. It was a lovely evening at the Motat Aviation Hall, where we were privileged to see the high quality architecture being produced in our region.

SGA received two awards in the Housing category for Bay House and Whare Koa, and an award for Motu Kaikoura in the Small Project Architecture category.

Below are some photos from the night....

NZIA NATIONAL AWARD WINNERS by Strachan Group Architects

The long-running New Zealand Institute of Architects Awards evening was held at Auckland Museum on Friday 30 October. The winners of the country's premier architectural competition were wide ranging in form, scale and function - from educational to hospitality to housing and everything in between. Amongst the selected 28 projects was Boatsheds, our collaboration with client and fellow architect Rachel Rush and her partner Greg Lee, one of five winners in the Housing category. It was a fantastic close to an exceptionally rewarding project with a team that we have felt privileged to be part of. Congratulations to all of the 2015 New Zealand Architecture Award winners, the bar has been lifted and the future of our built environment is encouraging.

NZIA AUCKLAND AWARDS 2015 WINNERS! by Strachan Group Architects

Congratulations to all NZIA Local Awards 2015 recipients! The SGA team went along to the Auckland Architecture Awards evening held at Motat Aviation Hall (a wonderful building in itself) late last month. The high standard of work was impressive, it's great to see so many new exceptional buildings contributing to our city, you can see an overview here.
Boatsheds came through with an award in the Housing category. Thanks to all involved, particularly clients Greg Lee and both client and collaborative architect Rachel Rush and talented builder Gary Bonham
Boatsheds will now go on to be considered for the NZIA National Awards later this year...albeit against some stiff competition! The project also recently won Best NZ Architect Designed Kitchen in the Trends Kitchen Awards.
