After many long days working on this special community project, the prefabricated building was shipped to Kaikoura Island late last year. We are very proud that this logistically challenging project is almost complete. Below is a timelapse video of the dismantling and installation of the building, and a couple of images from the island.
Thank you to everyone who helped make this happen, the sponsors:
APL, Architecture Now, Blum, Bunnings, Carter Holt Harvey, Cutshop, Fires by Design, Franklins, Fortress Fasteners, GIB, Katalog, LightPlan, Metalcraft, Metro Glass, Nicks Joinery, NZ Steel, Plytech, Prime Panels, Proclima, PSP, Resene, Rinnai, Rosenfield Kidson, Sika and Spax.
Thanks also to the builders from from Crate Innovation and JR Hosking Carpenters who helped us out along the way. But thank you mostly to the 16 courageous women of the SGA Workshop x A+W NZ build programme whose hard work and determination led to the realisation of this project.
