Sandringham Plunket Rooms - Official Opening

The new building was officially opened at a ceremony on Saturday November 28th. The event was well attended by dignitaries, Crs Glenda Fryer & Paul Goldsmith and MP's David Shearer & David Clendon among others, but the real guests of honour were the little people who will be using the building.

HOME Magazine - NZ Wood Timber Design Awards

Those who subscribe to HOME magazine may have seen the Glade House featured in the last issue. A full feature of the Owhanake Bay House appears in the magazine's current December-January Issue. It's a great magazine for keeping the sun out of your eyes when you're sleeping on the beach so grab a copy.

This house was also a winner in the recent Timber Design Awards

Sustainable Habitat Challenge (SHaC) & NZIA Sustainable Design Series

Continuing our involvement in education, Dave presided as a juror on the SHaC competition, taking him around the country to look at entries. The winners were announced at a symposium in Dunedin in late November. Have a look at www.shac.org.nz for the entries and winners

At around the same time, Dave & Pat delivered presentations to over 600 architects throughout NZ on "Climate Responsive Houses" starting in Auckland and culminating in Queenstown to coincide with the Southern Branch Local Awards.
